Feather Hunter
Feather Hunter is a point and click game based on the idea that you are a hunter with a six shooter hunting birds flying across the screen. Starting with 88 seconds on the clock, each bird you kill adds time while the ones you are supposed to leave alive subtract time. Goals along the bottom of the screen indicate types and numbers of birds to kill in order to achieve a bonus that will add to your total score. The object of Feather Hunter is to earn as many points as possible before the timer officially runs out.
There are four kinds of birds that fly by over the course of the game. The black birds that fly across the screen are clearly the ones you want to avoid shooting as they are the only birds with angry faces. Blue birds are the largest and slowest and award the lowest amount of points at 14. Purple birds are thinner and faster but award even more (28 points). Red birds with capes are the hardest as they take three hits to kill and, after each hit, teleport to a different part of the screen. If you manage to hit one, they award the most points at 56. As you earn bonuses, the amount of points for each bird killed increase.
The biggest challenge to this hunting game is the fact that the gun needs to be reloaded after six shots and cannot be reloaded before then (like other shooters I have played). This means you need to be on top of how many shots you’ve fired so that if the gun empties mid-shoot out, you know how to react immediately. One of the more striking features (or lack of) is that there is no sound. I, personally, like this because it makes you choose your own soundtrack.
A very fun and simple game, Feather Hunter is concise, easy to figure out, and not loaded down with more features than one cares to use. Its goal, to score the most points than other players, is straightforward, and there are no features that make it a pay to win (a huge bonus in keeping the game enjoyable and fair). If you are fast and accurate with finger taps and need a way to pass some time without high pressure, Feather Hunter is the perfect choice.
Enjoy!
